EG GROUP ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TRANSITION

25 April, 2025: EG Group, a leading international operator of convenience retail, foodservice and fuel stations, today announces its executive leadership transition plan.

The key elements are:

  • Co-founder Mohsin Issa will step down as CEO. He will retain a substantial minority shareholding and remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director of the business.
  • Russell Colaco, currently Group CFO, has been appointed CEO.
  • The search for a new CFO is well-advanced.

Russell Colaco joined EG Group as CFO in June 2024 bringing extensive US and international experience, both in the wider consumer retail sector and investment banking. Reflecting the growing importance of non-UK markets for the Group, Russell will be primarily based in the United States, EG Group’s single largest market.

EG GROUP ANNOUNCES PAY RISE FOR OVER 10,000 UK COLLEAGUES

EG Group (“The Group” and “EG”) is pleased to announce that it has increased hourly rates of pay for 10,500 employees in the UK in recognition of their hard work and commitment throughout the pandemic. Increased rates of pay will apply across all of EG’s petrol filling stations and foodservice brands in the UK, effective from 1st October 2021. Every colleague aged 18 and above will now be paid a minimum of £9.50 per hour. More experienced colleagues, such as team leaders and supervisors, will be paid a minimum of £10.00 per hour. These changes represent an average hourly wage increase of more than 5%.

EG GROUP AND REWE LAUNCH NEW REWE EXPRESS

EG Group is pleased to announce that it will be partnering with REWE on a brand new retail concept store, REWE Express.

Founded in 1927, REWE is a leading German food retail company with circa 3,700 stores. The partnership will launch across four Esso Petrol Filling Stations in Munich and Freiburg with the first store opening today at the Esso station on Ungerer Str. In Munich. The remaining locations are set to open in early July.
